Plenty of Grapes
The brief
I was asked to a design a website for the book Plenty of Grapes by it's author, Richard Hilliard. Richard required a simple site to be launched rapidly in order to be accessible at the time of a book event.
It is a simple site design, which is built using the new Squarespace Fluid Engine website editor and utilises anchor links in the main navigation. Additionally, a smooth scroll animation was added using CSS to bring some fluidity to the movement of jumping from one-page section to another. The green and purple colour accents from the book are used throughout the site to give the design a unified appearance, and subtle animations are employed throughout the site to give it a dynamic quality.
Produced in less than 1 week to co-incide with the book event, the site includes extracts from the book, an events page, pop-up contact form and a newletter sign-up form, along with search engine optimsation work behind the scenes.
