I'm Sophie Kazandjian. I run Sophie's Bureau, a digital operations practice for consultants, coaches and values-led small businesses, from Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie in the south of France.
The short version of what I do: I build and run the systems a small business depends on, and I help it choose those systems with some care. That means databases, automations, websites and the everyday flow of inbox, diary and documents, but it also means knowing where each tool stores its data, who owns the company behind it, and what happens if it disappears. Increasingly that second half is what clients ask for first, as practices in the UK and Europe work out how to run without handing all of it to American platforms.
Background
I have spent more than twenty years in executive support and operations, twelve of them fully remote, across consultancy, coaching and creative businesses. I have worked alongside leadership advisors, executive coaches, consultancies managing associate networks and independent creative founders, usually as the one person who could see how the whole thing fitted together. Sophie's Bureau is the practice that grew out of that: registered as an entreprise individuelle in France, working in English and French, with clients across the UK, the EU and the US.
I am from Scotland, studied at the University of St Andrews, and have lived in the Gard for nearly nine years. Every piece of client work is done by me. There are no associates or subcontractors, which keeps the quality consistent and the data exposure low.
How I work
I use AI in the work, selectively and with oversight. Claude is my main writing and build partner, Le Chat from Mistral covers EU-hosted research, and anything containing identifiable client information stays on a local model on my own machine. I write about this, and about EU-first tooling, the AI Act, Cyber Essentials and running a micro-enterprise from France, in the journal. The FAQs cover how engagements run and what they cost.
Outside the practice
I am also a pianist and composer. I play by ear and write solo piano pieces shaped by the Highland landscapes I grew up in; they are at sophiesmusic.com and on Bandcamp.
